1st Sock

My 1st sock

1st Socks!

The 1st pair together, comfy and cozy.

This pattern is from the Creative Knitting Magazine (March 2005), it is called Curvy Lace. This was a very enjoyable pattern, and a quick knit! Gotta love socks!!!

Clapotis Est Finis!

Clapotis Est Finis!

My Clapotis has been done for quite a while...it was a lovely knit, I would really like to work another one in if I have the chance/yarn :)

Clapotis in Progress

Birth of a Clapotis:

Dropped Stitches:
IMAG0083
Pattern:Clapotis
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft Soft Pink
Needle: Size US 8 straight
Notes: I love Caron's Simply Soft yarn...it is the yummiest acrylic I've had the pleasure to work with so far. This pattern is real neat. I like the rythm once it "clicks" (yes, like many I had a difficult launch, but once it clicked it has been lovely). I would like to try this again in either a lighter or warmer yarn for variety.

My 1st Sock!

My 1st Sock

Ok, so this is a mini sock; but it was still good practice. I found the pattern online and will update when I locate again. Next I am going to try toe-up socks - I hear you can avoid grafting this way ;) although I am capable of this skill, I need more practice to get results I can live with.

Petals Baby Hat

IMAG0131
Petals Hat

Pattern: Petals Baby Hat
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft Soft Pink
Needle: size suggested
Notes: I love this pattern! Very simple and quick to knit. Very cute on baby....but a little bigger than I had anticipated. I made this for a newborn and it fits my 10 month old (who has a fairly large head) with room to stretch. Would probably go down in needle size to fit smaller head.

Pebble Beach Top

Pebble Beach Top

Pattern: Patton's Designer's Series "In Style" Cap Sleeve Top
Yarn: Paton's Evita Paradise
Needle: size US 10 straight
Notes:This yarn is interesting to work with. I would probably use it again as an accent/border, but not necessarily for the body of a piece again. The top did end up seeming to be heavier than I had anticipated; but once it was on, I didn't notice the weight.
Although I had reservations regarding the colorway (hubby made purchase, and was a little too fruity to me at first) I do like it now that it is done and it looks better on than I had anticipated :)
